Team Toad: Highway 101, EDRA - Escondido Draw Recreation Area, Ozona Texas
The
Escondido Draw Recreation
Area (EDRA for short) is a new Texas state park for
off-roading Jeeps, side-by-sides, and motorbikes. Their most
well-known trail is Highway 101; they have rated it
3 out of 5 diamonds. Their hope is that one day it will be
a badge of honor trail.
Baldy's Jeeps sponsored an invasion on March 24-26, 2023, to bring the Austin Jeep People to Ozona. Although I've moved from Austin to Mabank, I jumped at the chance to give the EcoToad a proper shakedown cruise.
I'm normally an overlander, but my friends seem to crawl over rocks a lot, so I've done a few rock crawling trails. But Highway 101 was more difficult than any other trail I've done before, including Metal Masher.
